What we stand for…

Hi, I’m Jordan Brown, and I’m running for State Representative for District 120. As a public school special education teacher, I stand with my students every day. I see the challenges our kids, families, and educators face up close and it’s clear Texas can do better. Conversations with my neighbors, students, and partner made one thing certain: our community is ready for leadership that reflects the future of this state.

I’ve spent the last decade serving Texans as a teacher and nonprofit advocate, and I’m running to fight for what our district deserves: strong schools, affordable and stable housing, real access to healthcare, fair wages and worker protections, thriving neighborhoods, and dignity and security for every family in District 120. I’m running to work for the Texans who make Texas work.

Strong Schools

I believe every child in San Antonio, especially here in District 120, deserves a fully funded public school and a fair chance to succeed, no matter their ZIP code or background. Education is the foundation of opportunity, and I’ve seen firsthand how strong schools build strong communities. I’m committed to protecting, strengthening, and fully resourcing public education. I’ll never stop fighting for the students, families, and educators who make our schools work.

That means raising the Basic Allotment, fully funding Special Education services, stabilizing teacher pay, expanding early childhood learning, and making sure every campus has the counselors, mental-health supports, and staff our students need to thrive.

Fair Pay & Worker Protections

I believe that hard work should come with dignity, stability, and a fair wage. No one working full time in San Antonio, or Texas, should struggle to afford housing, food, or healthcare. A strong economy is built from the bottom up by investing in the workers, small businesses, and training programs that help our communities grow.

I support raising the minimum wage, stopping wage theft, expanding job training and apprenticeship pathways, and making sure corporate incentives actually create high-quality jobs for the people who live and work here in Bexar County.

Affordable and Stable housing

I believe every family in San Antonio should have a stable, affordable place to call home, and that no one should have to fear being priced out of their neighborhood. Stability is freedom, and housing shouldn’t be an opportunity to exploit people for a basic and essential need. Families deserve predictability, fairness, and protection from the predatory practices that make life harder for working people.

I’m committed to supporting stronger renter protections, real transparency in utilities, curbing predatory corporate landlords, expanding pathways to homeownership, and delivering property tax relief that actually benefits homeowners and working families here in Bexar County.

Thriving Neighborhoods

I believe that safe, thriving neighborhoods come from investment, not neglect. Families in District 120 deserve well-lit streets, reliable transit, clean parks, strong youth programs, and the basic infrastructure that keeps our communities connected. When neighborhoods are supported, families succeed, young people thrive, and community safety grows naturally.

I support our tax dollars working for us by investing in communities, creating good jobs, and building for the future. Often our leaders treat obvious problems as something to work around instead of something to fix. I believe in taking a forward-thinking approach, using long-term infrastructure and smart investments to strengthen our economy and set Texas up for the future we know is possible.

Accessible Healthcare

I believe that accessible, affordable healthcare is a basic human right and that no one in San Antonio, or anywhere in District 120, should go into debt or risk their life because they can’t afford to see a doctor. Every member of our community deserves the security of knowing they can get care when they need it without fear, without barriers, and without surprise costs getting in the way. I’ll always fight for a healthcare system that puts people first, not profits.

That means expanding Medicaid, extending postpartum coverage, strengthening our neighborhood clinics, addressing mental-health needs in our schools and communities, and putting an end to predatory medical-debt practices that trap families in crisis.

Dignity, Stability, & Security for Families

I believe that every family, regardless of where they were born or what paperwork they hold, deserves dignity, safety, and the chance to build a stable life. District 120 is home to thousands of immigrant and mixed-status families who work, worship, raise children, and strengthen our community every single day. Our neighbors deserve protection, stability, and the confidence that Texas will keep families together not tear them apart.

I support expanding state-level protections for immigrant families, increasing access to legal resources, ensuring safe access to education and healthcare regardless of status, preventing state-driven family separations, and pushing for federal reforms that create fair, realistic pathways to residency and citizenship.
